I worked with Michael Oxman at Henry A. Davidson on a suit, shirts, slacks, braces, and a beautiful blazer for my wedding earlier this year. If I could give six (or seven or ten) stars out of five, I would! As a novice to the world of custom clothing, Michael walked my partner and I through every step of the process, ensuring we had ownership of the garments we were designing without allowing us to become overwhelmed by the sheer amount of choices we had to make. Having had a custom suit made before I thought I knew something going into this…The experience Brian and Mike provided went above and beyond picking out fabrics and threads. It was a learning experience that provided me the knowledge to make the right educated decisions for the suit they were making and in the future when I shop for a suit. I loved the suit, vest, and shirt that I purchased through Michael Oxman at Henry Davidsen. Throughout the process, Mike kept me informed and comfortable. He educated me on what goes into making a suit, and guided me through the stylistic choices with expertise. The suit was for my wedding, and I felt fantastic. After going to my brother’s wedding and having my rented tux rip down my entire back while dancing, I knew that I needed a custom suit for my wedding in 5 months. I found Henry A. Davidsen through my online research and saw all the beaming reviews. I ended up working with a gentleman by the name of Michael Oxman. Let me tell you, this is a great human being. I felt like I was hanging out with a good friend during our sessions. Not only that, but this guy seriously has a PHD in style! I learned so much about fashion and attention to detail I feel like I should have paid him extra just for the education. From my initial visit, in which I was informed of the immense customizability of their suits (and I mean, EVERYTHING can be customized to your heart's desire), to the specific fabrics and their qualities/uses, design options, and accessories, this is an incredible experience from start to finish. Able to conform to your budget (and make it a comfortable conversation!), present multiple options, and generally provide a fabulous time, I recommend these guys above all else! Their attention to detail and dedication to every step of the process really transforms the experience into something I can't wait to return to again. The nature of custom clothing is such that each garment is unique and different. With this in mind, pricing varies from individual garment to individual garment.

Average prices are listed below, but pricing can be, and often is, lower or higher than the range listed.

  • Suits: $2,500-$5,500+, dependent on fabric and construction
  • Tuxedos: $2,700-$5,700+, dependent on fabric and construction
  • Custom shirts: $300-$465 per shirt
  • Custom ties & silk goods: $250-$345 depending on silk. Additional charges may be occurred for extra long lengths
  • Custom Denim: $575 per pair
  • Made-To-Measure Sportswear: $165-$365
  • Custom belts: $175-$550. Depending the material, sales tax may be applicable.
  • Ready-to-wear accessories: $40-$1000 (not inclusive of PA sales tax where applicable)

We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. We require a minimum 50% deposit for custom orders, with the final balance payable upon first garment try-on.

We highly suggest that you make an appointment with us prior to coming in so that we may provide you with the personalized attention necessary for a proper consultation. While we accommodate walk-ins any time we’re able and are more than happy to make same-day appointments when time slots are open, we cannot guarantee our availability without an appointment. No. Henry A. Davidsen is a custom clothier, not a rental house. Every tuxedo and wedding suit we make is cut for one person and stays with him.

If you need a tuxedo for a single event and don’t expect to wear one again soon, a rental shop will serve you better than we will, and we’d rather tell you that now than after a consultation.

First-time consultations for suits and sport coats generally take two and a half hours. This typically gives us enough time to consult, educate, design, and measure. The timing may be more or less depending on how long we take to select fabrics and/or design garments.

First-time appointments for other garments typically last about an hour.

Appointment times for repeat clients who do not require measuring will vary based on the size and complexity of the order.  These could even be done remotely, although we always enjoy, and encourage, the in-person experience with our clients.
