That depends on the garment. Average turnaround times from initial consultation to finished product: Made-to-measure suits, tuxedos, sport coats, and trousers: 6-8 weeks. Full custom suits, tuxedos, sport coats, and slacks: 10-12 weeks for initial orders, 6 weeks for repeat orders. Custom shirts: 6 weeks. Custom ties and silk goods: 2-3 weeks. Custom denim: 5-6 weeks. How much should I expect to pay for Henry A. Davidsen garments?

The nature of custom clothing is such that each garment is unique and different. With this in mind, pricing varies from individual garment to individual garment.

Average prices are listed below, but pricing can be, and often is, lower or higher than the range listed.

Suits: $2,500-$5,500+, dependent on fabric and construction
Tuxedos: $2,700-$5,700+, dependent on fabric and construction
Custom shirts: $300-$465 per shirt
Custom ties & silk goods: $250-$345 depending on silk. Additional charges may be occurred for extra long lengths
Custom Denim: $575 per pair
Made-To-Measure Sportswear: $165-$365
Custom belts: $175-$550. Depending the material, sales tax may be applicable.
Ready-to-wear accessories: $40-$1000 (not inclusive of PA sales tax where applicable)

We accept all major credit cards, checks, and cash. We require a minimum 50% deposit for custom orders, with the final balance payable upon first garment try-on.

Do I need to make an appointment?

We highly suggest that you make an appointment with us prior to coming in so that we may provide you with the personalized attention necessary for a proper consultation. While we accommodate walk-ins any time we’re able and are more than happy to make same-day appointments when time slots are open, we cannot guarantee our availability without an appointment. Do you rent tuxedos?

No. Henry A. Davidsen is a custom clothier, not a rental house. Every tuxedo and wedding suit we make is cut for one person and stays with him.

If you need a tuxedo for a single event and don’t expect to wear one again soon, a rental shop will serve you better than we will, and we’d rather tell you that now than after a consultation.

How long does an appointment last?

First-time consultations for suits and sport coats generally take two and a half hours. This typically gives us enough time to consult, educate, design, and measure. The timing may be more or less depending on how long we take to select fabrics and/or design garments.

First-time appointments for other garments typically last about an hour.

Appointment times for repeat clients who do not require measuring will vary based on the size and complexity of the order. These could even be done remotely, although we always enjoy, and encourage, the in-person experience with our clients.
